"Three's Company" FINISHED
I completed this one today ... I am very pleased with the results. Funny how sometimes a painting will just come to you and everything about it goes just as you envisioned.... maybe that is what keeps me excited about painting... ya just never know!!

"Three's Company" WIP
I am such a lucky woman ... when Gary retired he decided he would take over the grocery shopping and the cooking. He does an outstanding job at both! I like something sweet at night and because I try to eat healthy I usually look for some fruit in the frig. Well... when I took out these beautiful tangerines with their lovely green leaves still attached I just had to take some photo's to use as a reference for a painting.. size is 12 x24. I am really enjoying painting these beauties .

"Wait For Me" update
I started laying in the paint on the little boy today... I have never had the interest or the desire to do portraiture.. I know many artist love to paint people but that has never been something I am drawn to. Maybe because his back is to me I don't think of this as painting a person.. but as I worked on the shirt today I couldn't help but think about the little guy under that red shirt.. and as darling as I am sure he is... I do not want to paint people... I had much rather paint a marble or a landscape. I am pleased with how this is coming along... and will do more on it tomorrow.

"Wait For Me"
Some times I will see an image that touches me and I know I will love painting it... this is one of those paintings. I have a friend that shared pictures of her grandson with me and immediately I knew this was something special. There were two photo's of he and his little dog walking down a path... in one picture the dog was in perfect form and in the other the little boy's body posture was perfect.... soooo I took the best of both photo's and came up with this...
I am experimenting with this painting... wanting to accomplish a more painterly .. looser style... I plan to make the boy and dog more detailed than the rest of the painting and hope to get the feel that I am striving for.

Don't Do Me Any Favors
So here is what happened.... I have a credit card that I have used exclusively for years... I am a good customer. This is my personal card... for my personal purchases and payments... I open the bill.. I pay the bill ... this is MY card. This is also the only number I can recite by heart.... I know the number... I do not know my social security number or my drivers license number... or even my cell phone number... but this number I can rattle off at will. So what do they do? They change my number.... arhhhhh. It seems I am such an outstanding customer they have upgraded me and that means a new number. I now have LOT's of changes to make with account's that have my old number.... what a royal pain in the ass! I did not ask for, nor did I want an upgraded card... I was content and happy and in charge of my old number... so next time... don't do me any favors!!

So Here It Begins
I have fought doing this .. and now here I am doing this... blogging. UGh ... don't get me wrong I love to read other people's blogs and see what they have been up to. I am just not so sure I have the passion to keep one going myself. Then I thought well, if it revolves around something I really enjoy.. like painting or playing Mahjong.... then perhaps I will keep it alive. So here it begins.
When I was back in Tn. visiting family.. I was going through photo album's of Betty's and found a wonderful picture she had taken while visiting Turkey a few years ago.
So I decided to paint it... I will post what I call a wip... or work in progress.
I started with a white canvas and stained it kind of a tan color... this allows me to see true colors and avoid glare. Then I sketch the outline of what I want to paint... sometimes I get very detailed in the sketch but for this one I just need a general idea of where things go.
I mix my colors for the palette and I am off and running. I get lost while painting .. my mind shuts off and I think only of the moment at hand and what I am striving to accomplish with the paint brush...
